Troops On Tv: Is Fox News Working For Israel Against America?

advertisement

Fox News is using retired military officers surrounded by uniformed active duty troops in an attempt to derail debate on disengagement in Afghanistan. After 8 years, the US is heading the same way Russia did, the more troops we send, the more die. Absolutely nothing has been accomplished in 8 years in Afghanistan other than to start a major war in Pakistan too. I understand Fox News. They are controlled by the powerful Israeli spokeman, Rupert Murdoch. Israel wants this war to go on forever. Though Murdoch now is an American citizen, it doesn't seem to have "taken."

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I fail to see the israel connection in afghanistan.. Fox taking the wrong side in this isnt surprising but perhaps i am missing something.
can anyone elaborate? neither of those areas seemed to be big threats to Israel. Perhaps as a go through for weapons from iran but thats about it.

Do you have some arguments plus sources to disapprove or just acting frustrated and resented, which is absolutely absurd.

Good post. You managed to combine not only your hatred of FNC, but your hatred of Jews. Very clever.

    Mel? Is that you?

While I agree that this article is quite a stretch, I don't know if I'd go throwing around the anti-Semite card. And a hatred for FNC is completely and totally natural and healthy. I recommend you try it sometime.

Sorry. I've been a journalist for 35 years. And I'm not insane. Fox News Derangement Syndrome is not for me. As for the anti-Semite label, that is one that sticks pretty well to liberals.

Spirit. I know what you mean. Sometimes when I flip through the station I can always bet every time I stop just for a moment at Fox news some outlandish statement is being made. Strangely they have a following.

This is a no brainer. Good seed, but the answer is obvious. Nothing or little to do with Jews. Fox is for the status quo in the mid east. What was good in 1970 is good now. They are an example of conservatism --- they do not want to change. In other words without saying it they want the United States to go away like the dinosaurs. I am being cynical, but that is what has killed all nations, from Rome to the Soviet Union conservatives in that nation not wanting to change. Therefor they do not want America to succeed.

You're going to catch a lot of flak for that one, Bob. I commend your bravery. FNC is for the ovaltine crowd. Nesquick please.

Thanks Joseph. Sometimes truth stares at you right in the face. It is easy to get down on Israel and Jews. But I really do not think it is a Jewish question. I think for Israel it is stupid to allow settlers in Palestine. But I am sure Fox news is not supporting this. I think they are guilty of promoting the status quo and that in my mind is rampant conservatism. Therefore anti American. Not working for or against Israel.

Logically and theoretically it makes sense since it keeps the issues of terrorism and related wars alive and help to keep off the focus and attention on the process of peace in the middle east, put it on the back burner or tucked away under the rug as has happened during the eight bush years. Even operation Cast Lead last year went though it was business as usual. Practically in the long run it will hurt all.

It is interesting to compare the situation with the Russians were in Afghanistan- a post found on NV

      http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/stevecoll/2009/09/gorbachev-was-right.html

The hawks in Russia wanted to continue the conflict but Gorbachev showed a different direction.
